Preventing Domestic Violence Homicide


Roughly 25 percent of domestic violence homicides are committed while a restraining order is in effect. Often, there are clear warning signs that would allow law enforcement to predict, and therefore prevent these intimate partner murders.

Ms. Rosenfeld has played a large part in the development and implementation of efforts to prevent domestic violence homicide. Through the expansion of GPS monitoring, paired with a groundbreaking risk assessment tool, many local and statewide law enforcement departments have begun to make substantial progress in preventing domestic violence homicide.
